Allstones Lake Trail (hard)

Hard
10km
5-7 hours
Elevation gain: 600m
Summer, Spring, Fall

I did this hike a while back, but it was good! Its not a summit hike, but has nice views of Abraham Lake for a good chunk of the way.

This hike is pretty much straight up, minus about 1km in the middle while your going around the face of the mountain to start to decrease elevation to the lake. The trail starts of as switch backs in the nice forrest, and then turns into some scree. The cliff side is a little steep so have good footing.

This trail is dog friendly! But its long, so make sure your doggy is able to handle it.

Theres no scramble to the hike, only a couple of thin sections.

The lake is nice, regular lake water – not glacier blue. But there are fish in it! So make sure you have your fishing pole (and license of course)!

This is also a good spot to camp! Lots of pre-camped locations, with fire pits and flat land to put a tent or hang a hammock. Make sure you have bear spray, and your food is properly put away at night. THERE ARE NO BEAR BINS – this would be a backcountry camp.

Over all, this is a good hike! And I would do it again!
